Justif, comprised of Justin and Tiffany (cute, huh?) first came to our attention at the Monday night open mic. They quickly became favorites, and we are happy to have them playing a regular gig at House Wine. They do a folky thang, with intelligent, emotional tunes carried on the breeze of beautiful vocals and a positive, heartfelt vibe. They'll be here the first Saturday of every month. Hear them once and you'll be a fan.

Doug Anthony

At the age of 14 Doug started playing the guitar. Self taught with the exception of a couple of initial lessons he became obsessed with music. Like most teenagers his interest was rock and roll but later on it expanded to blues and jazz. In 1986 he studied music at Del Mar college in Corpus Christi Texas. His main influence was jazz guitar great Chester Rupe. Shortly thereafter he began playing in local blues and jazz bands where in addition to playing the guitar he started picking up other instruments like the harmonica, the saxophone and the flute. He moved to Austin in 1989 and worked as a sideman in bands in many different genres, jazz, blues, rock, country, bluegrass, Latin, soul, r&b, etc… Along the way he also added the bass and the dobro to his arsenal of instruments.

Labor Day Lounge
